South Africa (8 Nights / 9 Days Itinerary)


Day 1: Arrive Cape Town
Arrive Cape Town. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Half day City, Table Mountain & Waterfront Tour

Breakfast at hotel. After being picked-up from your hotel you will be taken directly to the lower cable way station on the slopes of Table Mountain. Weather permitting, ascend the mountain by aerial cable car (Cost of the cable car is not included in cost of tour). From a height of 1067m view the city and Table Bay below; also Robben Island, the Atlantic seaboard and most of the spectacular Cape Peninsula. We then head down into the Bo Kaap Malay Quarter with its narrow cobbled streets and colourful Mosques. Having parked at the top of Government Avenue stroll to the National Gallery and South Africa Museum. View the Houses of Parliament. Then to the City Hall on the Grand Parade and later a visit to the Castle. Enter the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront that abounds with shops, pubs, restaurants and entertainment. You may leave the tour here to explore on your own or return to your hotel at approximately 13:00h.

Day 3: Full day Cape Point and Peninsula

Breakfast at hotel. This awe-inspiring tour will take you to the towering headland known as Cape Point. Magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, historic and picturesque coastal villages will be enjoyed along the way. After being picked up from your accommodation, you will travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, stopping at a Llandudno look-out point before continuing to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach. From here, you will go through Chapman's Peak, one of the world's most breathtaking coastal drives to Cape Point and the Good Hope Nature Reserve, which has magnificent fynbos vegetation, birdlife, endemic antelope species and zebra, historic lighthouses and shipwrecks. After lunch at a nearby restaurant (not included), you will go on to historic Simon's Town, with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach. Before you are transferred back to your accommodation, you will visit the well-known Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Day 4: Full day Cape Winelands tour in Cape Town
Breakfast at hotel. After being picked up from your accommodation, this delightful drive winds its way to the heart of the Cape Winelands, through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. Head off to the wine-country to one of the Cape's first farming districts-Paarl. the town is set at the foot of the cluster of remarkable granite domes from which it takes its name. Our first stop of the morning is the picturesque Seidelberg Wine Estate. An informative cellar tour and wine tasting gives visitors personalised insight into the finer points of wine-making. From here, proceed to the town of Franschoek, billed as the Gourmet Capital of South Africa, this charming town, is set in a most picturesque valley. We enjoy a wine tasting at one of the numerous wine estates in the area, before taking time to enjoy time for lunch at one of the many award winning restaurants. Onward to Stellenbosch, via the scenic Helshoogte Pass, the heart of the South African wine industry boasting great beauty and culture that is steeped in South African history. Walk down the canal-lined avenues, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings where an air of quiet intellectualism and wine-making history abounds in this university town.

Day 5: Cape Town – Johannesburg – Sun City
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for the fight to Johannesburg. Arrive Johannesburg and transfer to Sun City. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Morning Safari at Pillanesberg National Park
Breakfast at hotel. The beautiful Pilanesberg National Park is one of the largest in South Africa. The park covers an area of 55 000-hectares and its plains are rich and fertile as they were once part of a now extinct volcanic crater. Majestic hills encircle the park and a large central watering hole is ideal for game viewing. The park is found in the transition zone of the Kalahari and the Lowveld, and therefore both types of vegetation are found. Pilanesberg National Park is home to all of the Big Five and other large game including giraffe, hippo, zebra and crocodile, as well as an extreme diversity of bird life (over 300 species have been recorded). A visit to the park is always rewarding!

Day 7: Sun City – Johannesburg
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the Johannesburg. Arrive Johannesburg hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Half day Johannesburg City Tour
Breakfast at hotel. Founded by prospectors in the 1800's, Johannesburg is the economic hub of South Africa. Drive Through the Rainbow Nations financial capital taking in the Banking district, the Magistrate's Court and the Supreme Court. Visit the "top of Africa" at the Carlton Centre before heading to Museum Africa. Drive through some of the most picturesque and avant-garde suburbs in the country before returning to your hotel.

Day 9: Departure from Johannesburg
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for the departure flight
